Dear Delegates,
I am absolutely delighted to welcome you to the 55th University of Pennsylvania Model United Nations Conference! It has been a pleasure preparing for the conference and we are excited to share a memorable learning experience with you, filled with thoughtful and passionate dialogue.
My name is Bhavya Visal, and I am honored to be your chair for the World Health Organization (WHO) committee. I’m a rising junior at Wharton studying finance and business analytics, with a minor in data science. On campus, I’m involved with Penn’s competitive Model UN travel team (INTERCOL), Venture Lab Student Advisory Board and am the Co-Director of Wharton Undergraduate Founders and Funders Investment Committee. Outside of school, I enjoy trying out new restaurants, swimming and exploring hiking trails.
I was born in London, but I’ve spent the majority of my life between the Bay Area and India. These experiences have given me a global perspective and fostered my love for Model UN. No nation is an island in today’s interconnected world, where international relationships are more important than ever. The agendas that we will explore in this committee are at the forefront of global activity. We can’t wait for you to have fun and join us in stimulating, passionate debate.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to get to know you all and listen to your insightful viewpoints. Every Model UN conference provides an opportunity to grow as an individual. Personally, I never fail to learn something new. I hope that you all will seize this opportunity to learn, make new friends, and leave with a fresh perspective, along with critical thinking skills and a passion for diplomacy. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. I wish you the very best and look forward to seeing you there!
Kind regards,
Bhavya Visal
