Dear Delegates,

I am excited to welcome you to the fifty-sixth iteration of the University of Pennsylvania Model United Nations Conference. My name is Achint Das and I will be your Crisis Director for the Star Wars Committee.

I’m currently a junior majoring in economics with a minor in data science and political science. In the long run, I hope to work in diplomacy and foreign service in some capacity, ideally as a delegate myself. I grew up in New Jersey and competed in conferences throughout high school. These experiences have made me incredibly interested in international affairs and led to my involvement in UPMUNC, where I’m now on the other side!

On Penn’s campus, I joined Intercol, Penn’s Model U.N. competition team, during my freshman year. The community has given me some of my closest friends on campus and allowed me to travel and compete at national conferences alongside some of the best delegates I’ve ever met. Other than Model UN, I’m also involved in Greek Life, international research, and intramural sports teams on Campus. Outside of school, I love traveling over breaks, debating Kanye’s best album, and playing soccer or basketball.
