An UPMUNC tradition: the Art of the Deal committee offers a unique take on Ad Hoc designed to test delegates in more ways than one. Art of the Deal operates as three separate committees with “past”, “present”, and “future” components divided into the first three days of the conference. The “past” background guide will be revealed prior to the conference, and will be conducted like a regular crisis committee. The following two days of the conference will operate in an Ad Hoc fashion—with two new background guides being released each day—to give delegates the chance to adapt to whatever topics and updates arise. Since the first background guide will be released in its entirety prior to the start of committee, hints for the second and third day will not be provided, giving delegates the true opportunity to truly think on their feet. Given the dynamic nature of the committee, delegates will be challenged and assessed on their adaptability, creativity, and crisis skills. Art of the Deal is one of UPMUNC’s most demanding committees, and is designed only for experienced crisis delegates. Get ready for a weekend of mystery, history, and of course, victory!
